Earth Day & Sunset Zoo's Birthday!

Sunday, April 21

It’s a party for the planet and Sunset Zoo! We’re celebrating the wonder of the natural world and the Zoo’s 80th birthday with family-friendly activities including Kansas City’s Stone Lion Puppet Theatre sponsored by Cox Communications, a 19-foot inflatable earth, Zoo Ambassador Programs, birthday-themed animal enrichment, conservation stations and more! We'll even have a birthday parade around the prairie dog exhibit and cake in the pavilion.

The Zoo is open from 9:30am to 5:00pm daily; Party for the Planet activities will run from Noon to 4:30pm. All event activities included in regular Zoo admission; event held rain or shine. Overflow parking for the event is located in the fields north and east of the Zoo's main lot. Puppet show sponsored by Cox Communications. Promotional sponsorship provided by Murdock Manhattan, Blueville Nursery, Howie's Trash & Recycling, Manhattan Town Center, and Manhattan Broadcasting's z96.3, B104.7, KROCK 101.5 & 1350 KMAN.
