The philosophy of the Recreation Division of the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department is to provide and create affordable, recreational, cultural, educational and leisure opportunities to benefit and enhance the lives of all citizens in the community.

Manhattan's three pools will be closing for the season on the following dates: City Pool will close on Sunday, Aug. 10. Northview Pool will close on Sunday, Aug. 10 but will will remain open on weekends until Labor Day. CiCo Pool will close Saturday, Aug. 9.

The Splash Park, located in the southeast corner of City Park, will remain open until further notice, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, weather permitting. 

2014 Fall Brochure
The Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department has camps, programs, events and activities for children and adults this fall. The 2014 Fall Brochure is available for online registration at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, or you can stop by the Parks and Recreation Office, located at 1101 Fremont St., to pick up a copy or to register for classes. Take a look and enjoy what our Parks and Recreation Department has to offer this coming fall season. 
Just Tri It Youth Triathlon
HyVee[1].jpgResults for the 2014 Just Tri It Youth Triathlon are now available online. The HyVee Just Tri It youth triathlon is a fun and challenging event for kids ages 5 to 14. Young athletes will swim, bike and run in this 3-event race that not only promotes fitness but also improves self-confidence as participants cross the finish line on their own.

Rate Your CoachThe City of Manhattan wants your feedback. Rate Your Coach allows you to provide positive or negative feedback of coach's performance. Please take a few minutes to complete the evaluation. You will need your coach's ID number. Some points to consider in your rating process are motivation, knowledge and interpersonal skills. This information will help us in our effort to provide the best coaching experience for you and your child.
