PLANT OPERATOR                    (Regular Full-time)                     
Starting Salary:  $13.41/hr   

Position Purpose: Work in treatment of wastewater to return the water to the environment in an acceptable condition by operating and maintaining an activated sludge wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and other operating and support equipment.

Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Operator I: $14.03; Operator II: $15.12; Operator III: $16.18; Operator IV: $17.06 with KDHE certification. Maintain a valid driver’s license.

    Shift for this position has changed:  It is now 4 p.m. to Midnight — Tuesday through Saturday

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SUPERINTENDENT         (Regular Full-Time)                     
Salary DOQ        

Supervise, plan, coordinate and direct the services and operations of the City’s Wastewater Treatment process to meet Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements. This includes operating and maintaining one Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Activated Sludge Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) with UV disinfection, Biosolids operations and equipment, Lift Stations, Grinder Pump Stations, Activated Carbon Odor Control system, and other operating and support equipment.

Spring/Summer Seasonal – Recreational/Seasonal Positions
Starting Salaries: $7.25/hr to $25.00/game, pending position & qualifications

Position Listing: Umpires, referees, instructors and program supervisors for various sports programs (baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc); ball field maintenance; and Lifeguards.

Special Requirements: Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Prior seasonal employees are encouraged to re-apply. Seasonal positions are non-benefit eligible.
