Renewal/Continuing Education

*All license renewal will be done using the new online portal beginning in 2021. The first step in renewal involves receiving log in credentials to the license portal. This should have already been sent to you via email.  If you have not received it, and you are due to renew this year, please fill out the request login form and we will resend it to you by the next business day. If you still have questions, please contact the Risk Reduction office by email at riskreduction@cityofmhk.com or call 785-587-4506.

Access the license portal HERE.

Twelve (12) hours of approved continuing education are required every two years to renew general contractor, plumbing, gas, mechanical, and electrical licenses.  Six (6) of the required twelve (12) must be code related.

Any person in the full-time employment of the GC company may obtain the hours; however, two people from the same company may not submit the same class for credit.

The completion certificates can be uploaded to your license portal anytime during the year.  The continuing education credits must have been acquired during the two years prior to renewal.  Credit will not be given without a completion certificate.
