Move MHK! Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee 

Background

The Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department is looking for citizens that are willing to serve on the Move MHK! Steering Committee. The information below outlines the responsibility and commitment of those who will serve on the Committee.

*The Committee will give input on the development of a comprehensive master plan that will provide the Parks and Recreation Department direction for the next 10 years. The Committee will receive periodic updates from the City and consultant team. Committee members will also receive special invitations to all relevant City Commission meetings and consultant-led public engagement sessions.   

*The Committee will provide a recommendation to City Administration, the consultant, and ultimately the City Commission on the master plan report which will include reporting on the organizational structure and operations, staffing and levels of service, programs and events, capital projects, 3 park concept designs and a facility with indoor water conceptual design.

*The Committee members should expect 3 – 5 meetings from October 2023 through June 2024 followed by a formal recommendation to the City Commission.
