LOCAL OFFICIALS TO HOLD MEDIA CONFERENCE ON TUESDAY MAY 28th

(MANHATTAN, KS – May 27, 2019) News organizations are invited to attend a media conference with emergency services and collaborating agencies concerning water levels locally and the potential for flooding. The conference will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 11:30 a.m., at the Manhattan Fire Department, 2000 Denison Avenue in Manhattan. Media are asked to RSVP via email to pio@cityofmhk.com if they plan to attend in order to obtain further location and parking specifics.

Speakers will include:
  • Pat Collins -  Riley County Emergency Management Director
  • Brian McNulty - United States Army Corps of Engineers Project Manager
  • Jared Barnes - Pottawatomie County Fire Supervisor
  • Scott French - Manhattan Fire Department Chief
Topics will include an updated forecast status for the Tuttle Creek Lake, resources for citizens who may be impacted if flooding occurs, and the opening of a 24-hour Emergency Operations Center to ensure resources are available when needed. The speakers listed above in addition to representatives from the City of Manhattan and the Riley County Police Department will be available to answer questions following the conference.
