During the 2018 State Legislative Session, a Joint Legislative Transportation Vision Task Force was created to evaluate the existing 2010 statewide transportation program as well as existing projects that remain, and to identify future transportation projects that should be considered and what funding programs should be retained. The task force has been taking testimony across state the and will make a recommendation in January 2019 for the Legislature to consider.

The last task force meeting is taking place in Manhattan on November 9th from 10 am to 3:15 pm at the Kansas Farm Bureau Plaza, room 2627. In the morning, the Task Force will be discussing issues on local roads, emerging needs, and processes for priority formulas and selection criteria to determine how funding is distributed to cities across Kansas. An opportunity to provide local input testimony is available at 12:30 pm, and members of the public must sign up by October 30 at 3 pm with the State. The meeting is open to the public.
