(Manhattan, Kan., November, 11, 2018) — At 6:18 pm on November 11, the Manhattan Fire Department was dispatched to 2300 Vineyard Circle for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle on fire inside the garage of a two story residential structure. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the vehicle fire and the fire which had spread to the interior of the garage within 10 minutes. A total of 17 firefighters responded on 6 fire apparatus with units still on scene at the time of this release.
 
At the time of the fire one individual was home at the address and they were able to exit the structure without injury. Loss is estimated at $6800 to the vehicle and $25,000 to the structure and its contents. The owner is listed as Nigel Hanson of the same address. The fire cause is under investigation at this time.
