Manhattan’s favorite winter activity, indoor ice skating, returns for another exciting season on November 11, 2019. The rink at Wefald Pavilion in City Park opens its doors beginning 1:00 PM on Veteran’s Day. Admission and skate rentals are free on opening day for all active duty military ID card holders and veterans. General admission prices for adults and children are $3.50 and skate rentals are $3.50 per person.

“We are thrilled to have an indoor skating rink in Manhattan, with lessons and activities for all ages,” says Aquatics Specialist, Sydni Baker. “Skating is a great way to stay fit and have fun in the winter months.”

For the first time, Manhattan Parks & Rec is offering special events for families, with contests, Santa, buy-one, get-one skating, and more. Details can be found on Facebook at mhkprdaquatics.

  • December 14: Ugly Sweater Skate
  • December 23: Skate with Santa
  • January 18: Cookies and Cocoa

Beginner and intermediate lessons are available for ages four and up at the new Manhattan Ice Academy. Skaters can select the skill level, session dates, and times that work best for them. Each session is $40 per person and includes four Saturday lessons in either January or February. Sign up online at mhkprd.com/register using activity #110106.

Punch passes, good for 10 admissions or skate rentals, are $30 and can be purchased online or when you visit the rink. The Manhattan Ice Rink can also host your next party or event! The rink is available for rentals during hours it is not open to the public.

  • 1 to 50 people: $75 per 1.5 hour block
  • 51 to 150 people: $150 per 1.5 hour block

Rental prices do not include skate rentals for guests. Skate rentals are available for $3.50 per person and can be paid individually or as a lump sum.

Since 2010, the indoor skating rink has served Manhattan residents and guests during the winter season. Rink hours are from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on weekdays, and 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM weekends and all USD 383 school holidays. Patrons can enjoy the skating season through the end of February 2020.
