1.
How do I get my alley or street paved?
You may petition the city to establish a benefit district to pay for the improvements.
2.
When will my neighborhood street be treated for ice or have the snow plowed?
The city has an ice/snow control policy. It assists the Public Works Department during ice/snow storms. View the
snow and ice maintenance map
for more information. Major streets and areas around schools are treated first. Collector and residential streets with steep hills are next. The remainder of the neighborhood streets are treated as time allows and depending on the storm's severity.
3.
Why does it take so long to get a curb fixed?
Curbs are a lower priority item in the big picture of what needs to be repaired first when there is street damage. Curbs are generally fixed when we are already in the area doing street repairs, with the exception of said curb interfering with the use of a disability assistance ramp or a storm intake drain.
4.
Who do I call to have my gravel alley or street bladed?
The street division is responsible for maintenance of all streets and alleys. Gravel alleys and streets are periodically graded during the year, but are considered low priority for maintenance.
5.
My business has a parking lot. Can I push the snow onto the public roadway?
No. City ordinance prohibits property owners from pushing snow from private property into the street.
