To provide an annual report and plan to the City Commission on arts and humanities opportunities in the City, to include recommended activities, programs, projects, and collaborations. To research and recommend fundraising and grant opportunities. To assist with developing City guidelines related to the selection and placement of public art and other displays, performances, exhibitions and similar arts and humanities activities. To make reports and recommendations to the governing body on all matters referred to it by the governing body.

    The Manhattan Area Recovery Task Force will meet on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Due to precautions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will be held via video conference with the Co-Chairs and the 24 members of the Manhattan Area Recovery Task Force participating remotely. This is the tenth meeting of the Recovery Task Force, which is charged to help the Manhattan Area move forward under the Governor’s Reopening Plan by “developing a measured and phased path forward for our community.” The agenda for the Recovery Task Force meeting will be to learn more about the recent Riley County health order, receive an overview of meeting of the Subcommittee of the Task Force, hear a proposal for the MHK Safe and Open Concept, and review SPARK funding eligibility and funding process. Live public comment during the meeting will not be permitted.

  7. Aggieville Business Improvement District Advisory Board

    The purpose of the Aggieville Business Improvement District Advisory Board is to monitor and oversee the provision of services within the Aggieville Business Improvement District as established by the agreement between the District and the City of Manhattan. The Board, no later than May 15 of each year, submits to the City Commission a recommended program of services to be performed or provided within the District during the coming calendar year and a proposed budget to accomplish these objects. In addition, the Board submits a proposed schedule of fees for assessment on the businesses in the District and may recommend consideration of changes to the district boundaries. The Board consists of seven (7) members who are representatives of the businesses located within the District.
