Preschool-age children (ages 3-5) begin discovering the wonder of the Flint Hills where they live, but look beyond the city limits in their exploration. Every session includes a story time, snack and themed craft or activity! What do you want to be when you grow up? We will explore what a hero is, and try to be heroes too! The purpose of the Discussion/Briefing Session is for the Commission to discuss issues of a general nature, report on meetings attended, and coordinate calendars and scheduling. In addition, the Sessions are an opportunity for City Administration to distribute to the Commission any new relative background material or new information received regarding that evening’s agenda items.

The governing and legislative body of the city is the City Commission, comprised of five commissioners who are elected at-large on a non-partisan basis. The commission determines all matters of policy and approves all city ordinances and resolutions, as well as adopts the annual city budget.
